In a surprising partnership that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Revealed

According to the formal release, "An unusual encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden cult.

The questline centers on "peculiar trials and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Additional Features

Players who accomplish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This update also introduces the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
