Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.
The statement noted debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
