Manchester United Poised to Secure Germany Striker Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Marquee Signing for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her deal, has been a consistent goal-getter for both club and country. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. Her arrival is viewed as a marquee signing for the WSL team.
Departure from Bayern has been anticipated since she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the German club’s supporters after a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its leading strikers. According to multiple sources, all the paperwork for the transfer have now been completed.
Consistent Goal Threat to Strengthen United's Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a major boost to the team's attacking options. She has been highly consistent with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- For seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

The acquisition of the German international coincides with a period when the club seem to be gathering momentum.

- The contract extension for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since arriving in 2023.
