Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Stance Following Lending His Voice To Disputed Coronavirus Documentary

The "Taken" star has lent his narration to a recent film that questions the safety of vaccinations and commends one-time health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Disputed Foundation

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a well-known publication co-authored by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the pandemic for claims that Covid was caused by a bad strain of the influenza shot.

The book's collaborator, the executive producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone radio host a known commentator. He wrote online praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

An Unequivocal Rebuttal

A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have issued a statement strongly denying implications that he supports anti-vaccine beliefs.

"Everyone can acknowledge that unethical practices can exist within the drug industry, but that cannot be conflated with being against vaccines," the statement reads. "He never has been, and remains not, anti-vax. His considerable work with Unicef underscores his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

It noted that the performer did not shape the project's narrative and that concerns about its content ought to go to the filmmakers.

Major Assertions Within the Documentary

In the film, the script spoken by Neeson includes several controversial statements:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have called for "unconditional submission" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "research has become highly influenced by politics."
  • Kennedy is shown stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • The narration further attacks pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it mentions a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Historical Background and Current Debates

The documentary includes a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the subject of a formal apology by the network for editorial breaches.

Recently, RFK Jr instructed the CDC to change its long-held position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is repeated in the film, despite a fresh analysis from the global health body confirming no such link has been found.

An Earlier Position of Advocacy

Standing in contrast to the documentary's message, Neeson has previously shown strong support for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.

Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible human success story," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in human history."

The documentary finishes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This marks not the end of our story. It is the dawn of a different phase."
